PHILADELPHIA – On June 14, 2016, Philash Entertainment Group, The Artists United (TAU), and The African American Museum in Philadelphia presents The Soulful Sounds Series – Black Music Month Salute to Philly Soul Panel Discussion. This event is sponsored by I.C.A.R.E Academy and Main Course PHL. The event will take place at The African-American Museum of Philadelphia located at 701 Arch Street, Philadelphia, PA 19102. Panelists for this event include Kindred The Family Soul, Helen Scott of The Three Degrees, Jean Carne, Ivan Barias, and Dexter Wansel. The moderator for the evening will be Dyana Williams. The Soulful Sounds Series is an educational initiative curated by Ashley Scott on Soul and Rhythm & Blues Music. In celebration of Black Music Month, this panel discussion will talk about the impact of Philadelphia Soul on a global spectrum and the relevance it has in the music Industry. The panel will be an up close and personal discussion from the artist and hit makers themselves. It is designed to educate attendees on the history of Philadelphia soul music in order to positively influence the next generation of music makers. Our panelists include Songwriter-Producer Ivan Barias who has penned such classics as “Just Friends” by Musiq Soulchild and “Finding My Way Back” by Jaheim; Songwriter Dexter Wansel who penned “Nights Over Egypt” by The Jones Girls and “If Only You Knew” by Patti Labelle; Helen Scott who is a founding member of legendary girl group The Three Degrees known for the classic ballad “When Will I See You Again”; Songstress Jean Carne known for her hits “Don’t Let It Go To You Head” and “Closer Than Close; and husband/wife duo Kindred The Family Soul (Fatin and Aja Dantzler) known for their hits “Far Away” and “Stars.”

Serve a MAIN COURSE this Holiday Season

Since the coming of COVID-19 and the onset of quarantine many families, friends and peers have struggled to ensure they have food. This can turn into health issues manifesting at work, school and around loved ones.

To push back, Main Course PHL is partnering with Broad St. Ministries and Philabundance to tackle this problem. All of the food collected will be donated to the organizations to help fight against this crisis. Put your #PhillySupportPhilly on display with your donation to those enduring the pandemic.

We cannot accept:

  • Open products
  • Prepared foods (cheese trays, vegetable trays, already cooked meals, etc.) Cans of food (exceptions: tomato products, beans, pumpkin puree, coconut milk) inaddition, the cans must either be large (#10 cans) or full cases. NO INDIVIDUAL CANS
  • Food that has been time/temperature abused

We can accept:

  • Oils, vinegar, rice, dry pastas, grains, flours, sugar, salt, dried spices
  • Raw whole produce (minimum 50 pounds) that will be good for at least 1 week
  • Raw protein (minimum 100 pounds) that will be good for at least 1 week
  • Cheese, must be vacuum sealed (minimum 20 pounds)
